Senior Java / Backend Engineer
We are looking for a senior backend engineer for an enterprise banking project. You will design and develop reliable services in a complex environment with distributed systems and integrations.

- Design, develop and maintain backend applications and services in Java.
- Build scalable, maintainable and secure REST APIs, integrations and microservices.
- Contribute to system design and distributed or, where applicable, event-driven architecture discussions.
- Write testable code, review code and troubleshoot production and integration issues.
- Support performance improvements, CI/CD, documentation and collaboration with architects, DevOps and business teams.
- Mentor other developers where needed.
Essential skills
- Strong professional Java and enterprise backend development experience.
- Experience with REST APIs, relational databases and SQL.
- Understanding of distributed systems and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with Git and automated testing.
- Independence, analytical problem solving and professional working proficiency in English.
Relevant technologies and experience
- Depending on the final stack: Spring / Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD and observability tools may be relevant.
- Financial services or regulated enterprise experience may be an advantage.
